Super Simple Butterfly Gala Card Tutorial

Above is another card I created for my customer thank you notes and is super simple and quick to make. With just a few products and your basic supplies you will be creating in no time. 

For this card I used:
  • Card base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece of Whisper White cardstock #100730).
  • Butterfly Gala stamp set (page 35 - Occasions catalog #148580).
  • A piece of Gingham Gala designer series paper for matting behind the sentiment (page 35 - Occasions catalog #148554).
  • Whisper White cardstock for the sentiment #100730
  • Highland Heather  Classic Stamp Pad #147103
  • Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper #149622


Again, to pretty up my cardstock I randomly stamped butterfly images all over the front of my card base. Here I used Highland Heather Classic ink.


Next I stamped the sentiment from the Butterfly Gale stamp set in Highland Heather Classic ink #147103 onto Whisper White cardstock and glued the sentiment to the Gingham designer series paper. Then popped it up with few Stampin' Dimensionals #104430.

Lastly, I fussy cut a butterfly from the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper #149622 (page 9 in the Sale-A-Bration brochure). This beautiful paper pack is one of the free items you receive for spending $50. There is no limit. For every $50 you spend, choose another FREE product!

Simple Butterfly Gala Card Tutorial



Gingham Gala Suite
Spring will be here before you know it and the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set and Butterfly Duet Punch bundle is the perfect pairing to create your spring and summer cards. Here are some sample cards using some of the items on page 34-35 of the 2019 Occasions Catalog.


I am making thank you cards for my customers and am having so much fun using the Butterfly Gala stamp set and Butterfly Duet Punch (page 35 of the 2019 Occasions catalog.


For this card I used:

  • Card base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece of Grapefruit Grove cardstock from the Gingham Gala cardstock pack (page 35 - Occasions catalog #148555).
  • Butterfly Gala stamp set and Butterfly Duet Punch bundle (page 35 - Occasions catalog #150599).
  • A piece of Gingham Gala designer series paper for matting behind the sentiment (page 35 - Occasions catalog #148554).
  • Whisper White cardstock for the sentiment #100730
  • Grapefruit Grove Classic Stamp Pad #147142
  • Daffodil Delight Classic Stamp Pad #126944
  • Lemon Lime Twist Classic Stamp Pad #147145


Pretty up your cardstock by randomly stamping butterfly images all over the front of your card base. Here I used Grapefruit Grove.


Next I stamped butterfly images using the Butterfly Gala Stamp set and the stamp pad colors listed above. Then I punched them out using the Butterfly Duet punch. Both are part of the bundle on page 35 - #150599.


Next I stamped the sentiment from the Butterfly Gale stampset in Highland Heather Classic ink #147103.

I adhered the butterflies to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue #110755. Once the glue dried, I lifted up the wings a bit. I also glued the sentiment to the Gingham designer series paper and then popped it up with few Stampin' Dimensionals #104430.

Back In Plaid Holiday Stockings - DIY


I just LOVE the way these stockings came out!! Above is one of the place settings from our Christmas dinner.  From time to time Stampin' Up! offers past Paper Pumpkin kits at a discount.  When I recently saw this kit (Back in Plaid - November 2017)  I just had to get it.


This is what your finished kit would look like if you don't emboss the stockings.
I love how these came out!


Everything you need is in your kit.


I decided to "kick it up a notch" and add texture to the stockings by applying starch and
running them through the Big Shot with the Cable Knit embossing folder (page 222 of the annual catalog).

After embossing the stockings I turned down the top cuff.
